Frankfurt Blue Hour Skyline Countdown Timer

Frankfurt gets a bad reputation. People call it the bank city, all glass and meetings and men in grey suits, and they say it without ever standing on the riverbank at blue hour, when the towers switch on and the water turns into a second skyline, upside down and doubled. The Main doesn't ripple much on a still evening. It just holds the whole thing, Commerzbank and all, like it's keeping a secret for you. I walked across the bridge with my hands in my pockets and didn't take a single photo until I reached the far side, and then I took a hundred, most of them the same. That's how this place gets you. The old church spires down near the water, the opera house glowing warm, all of it dwarfed by the towers yet somehow still holding its ground. Germany's financial capital has a soft side and it only shows up at dusk. If you're passing through, don't judge it by the airport or the office blocks. Come to the river. Wait for dark. Let the reflection do the talking. Some cities reveal themselves slowly, and those are the ones I end up missing.
