LA gets a bad rap for having no skyline, which is funny, because downtown at dusk looks like a movie set waiting for its lead actor. Find a high spot around sunset and watch downtown light up. The city reveals a mood it never shows at noon. And bring a camera, or don't. The freeways far below are still packed at this hour, headlights and taillights crawling in both directions, and from up here all that hurry looks like jewelry, something bright and pointless and completely beautiful. Nobody down there knows you are watching. Nobody would care. Some things you should just watch.
